Be clear about what is there. SunRuby is built for schools, junior colleges, ITIs, teacher-training colleges and hostels. For a degree college there is no dedicated preset yet. The institution kind College exists, and the Custom preset lets you choose which features to switch on.
What works for a college
- Students, admissions, documents and ID cards.
- Daily or period attendance, and staff attendance.
- Fees, receipts, online payment and dues.
- Staff, leave, payroll and income tax.
- Timetable, bell schedules, rooms and labs.
- A hostel, run inside the organisation.
- Books, Tally export and the trust dashboard.
- Privacy tools for the Indian data protection law, and a phone app for students and staff.
What is not there yet
SunRuby does not yet have university-specific features: semester credit and grade-point results, university exam forms, university affiliation reports, or NAAC, NBA and AISHE drafting. If you need these, ask your SunRuby contact. Do not rely on SunRuby for them today.
Set up
- Institute > Institution profile. Choose the Custom preset. Words stay Standard, Division and Student unless you pick other words. Switch on only what you use (for example Programmes and years if you list courses with years instead of standards, and Seats if you track sanctioned intake).
- Institute > State and board. Choose your state. The board can be Other.
- Institute > Academic years. Add the year and terms. Start a new academic year
- Academics. Add programmes or standards, divisions and subjects.
