Everything that varies between institutions is a setting. Two pages hold the main ones.
Institution profile
Open Institute > Institution profile. The owner, institution admin and principal can edit it.
- Preset. Choose School, ITI, D.El.Ed, Junior college, Hostel or Custom and press Apply preset. A preset only fills in the settings below. You can change any of them afterwards. Applying a preset replaces unsaved changes.
- Words. The words used on screens and prints: school, ITI, D.El.Ed or hostel. For example Student, Trainee or Resident.
- Features. Switch on what you use. Menus and form fields follow: - Programmes and years (trades or courses instead of standards) - Seats, Quotas, State admission process - NCVT numbers - Attendance eligibility - Placements and internships - Scholarships - Biometric import - Pass or fail results - AI assistant (the owner must also switch it on). See The AI data assistant.
- Terms and groups. Annual or semester terms, default group size and the funding type (aided, unaided and so on).
- Quotas, Attendance rules, Exam components and Placement kinds are lists you edit.
- Stay cycle (hostel only): academic session or rolling, monthly.
- Press Save profile. A banner reminds you of unsaved changes.
If a menu item is missing, a message such as "This page is not switched on for this institution" says to switch the feature on here.
State and board
Open Institute > State and board.
- Under State or union territory choose the state. By default the institution follows the organisation. Press Save state and board.
- Choose the Board (for example CBSE, a state board, NCVT). Rules and grading of that board show under What this pack says.
- Under Packs applied to this institution press Preview for a part (admission categories, holidays, grading, pass marks). It shows What would change. Press Apply to confirm. Applying only adds, never overwrites a date that already has a holiday.
- Choose Holidays for this year or next.
The state also decides the professional tax slabs, labour welfare fund and the fee law. Most values are marked "verify". They are a starting point, not legal advice.
Common questions
Why is my menu different from another institution's?
Menus follow the profile and the person's role.
I changed the preset and lost my edits.
Applying a preset replaces the settings with its defaults. Change features one by one instead.
