Switch on online fee payment

Parents can pay a bill by UPI, card or net banking only after four things are switched on, by different people.

What must be on, and who does it

SunRuby switches a gateway on for the server. Today only Razorpay exists, and it is shown as "Not switched on for this server" until SunRuby does this. Cashfree, PayU and Easebuzz show "Not available yet". Ask your SunRuby contact.
The organisation owner adds the account. Open Organisation > Online payment accounts and press Add an account. Choose the gateway and whether it is Test or Live. Type the key id and the secret keys from your gateway dashboard. Secrets are shown afterwards only as "set (...)".
Check and approve. Press Check the keys. A message says "The keys work". Press Send for approval. A second person approves it. If you are the only owner, Approve asks for a reason.
Link the institution. Press Link an institution on the account. One institution collects into one account.
Turn it on at the institution. In Institute > Settings set payments.online_enabled to on. Part payments (payments.allow_partial) and how long a pay link works (payments.link_expiry_hours) are set there too.

Copy the Gateway notification address (webhook) from the account page into your gateway dashboard. Without it, payments are not noticed. New address makes a fresh one; the old stops working.

If you change the keys, the account goes back to Draft and needs approval again.

Test mode

A Test account never moves real money. Pay pages show "Test mode: no real money". Use it to try the whole flow first.

Suspend

Suspend stops online payment at once. The pay page says online payment is not available. Resume turns it back on.

Convenience fee

Off by default. UPI never carries a fee. A fee on cards or net banking needs payments.convenience_fee on, a percent and cap, and a written legal basis. Ask your own adviser before using it.

Fees > Online payments says online payment is off.

The message names the reason. It is one of the four steps above that is not done.

Parents see "Pay at the school office" in the app.
