The institutions of your organisation

See every school, college, ITI or hostel of the trust or society, change an institution's details and set the order in the switcher.

Organisation · How to · Last checked 2026-10-19

Open Organisation > Institutions. These are the units of the organisation: schools, junior colleges, ITIs, hostels. The table shows the Institution with its code, the Kind, the Board, the Medium, the Head, the current Academic year and the Status. Search by name, code or UDISE. Filter by kind.

Set the order

The super admin sees arrows in the Order column. Use them to move an institution up or down. The order is the one shown in the institution switcher at the top and in the overview.

Change an institution's details

Click a row. If you may edit, you can change:

  • Name and Short name,
  • Name on certificates, the head's name as it is printed. The real head comes from the head's role, which you change under Users and roles,
  • Phone, Email, Address and Place (printed after "Place:" on certificates),
  • UDISE code, Recognition no. and Index no.,
  • State. "Same as the organisation" is the default. Boards open to the chosen state are listed in Board. If the board does not belong to the state, the page says so and Save stays off,
  • Medium: English, Hindi, Semi-English and the official languages of the state,
  • Active. An institution that is not active is hidden from daily work.

Press Save changes. A hostel shows "Not applicable" for board and medium.

The words, features and funding type of an institution are set in the institution profile. See Choose the state and board, and switch on features.
