Fees > Fee law checks your fee structures against the fee law of your state. Only Maharashtra is researched today. Its rules come from the Maharashtra Educational Institutions (Regulation of Fee) Act, 2011, as amended. Every value is marked "verify" with its source. Check it against the law before you rely on it. For any other state the page says the state is not researched yet and checks nothing.
What it checks (Maharashtra)
- Each fee head must match a head the Act allows.
- The admission fee is at most one month's tuition. One month's tuition is the yearly tuition divided by 12.
- A student who studied here in an earlier year, up to Class 10, is not billed the admission fee again.
- A term fee is at most one month's tuition per term.
- A rise over last year is at most 15 percent, and only after two years. A bigger rise needs the approval of parents or the Executive Committee, which you record on the structure (approval reference and date).
It applies to standard fee structures of unaided and private institutions.
Choose what happens when a rule is broken
- Open Fees > Fee law.
- Under When a rule is broken choose Off, Warn (the default) or Block. Only the owner or institution admin can change it.
- Warn saves the structure and shows "Against the law" on it. Block refuses the save, refuses invoices from a structure with an error, and refuses publishing a year with one.
Match your fee heads
In Fee heads and the law, set the Head under the law for each fee head, for example tuition. Tick whether the head is reimbursed for RTE children. A head that is Not matched gets a finding.
Check one structure
Open Fees > Fee structures and open a structure. The State fee law panel lists each finding in plain words, or says "This structure is within the state's fee law".
Publish the fee notice
- On Fees > Fee law, find Fee notice and check what it will show.
- Type the approval reference and date if you have them. Press Publish the fee notice.
- Copy the link. It opens a public page with no sign-in, with heads, totals, due dates and payment options. Put it on your website. It holds no child's data.
- Publishing again replaces the old notice. The old link shows that a newer notice exists. The principal or admin can Withdraw a notice.
