The app can tell you at once about an absence, a fee receipt or reminder, a notice, results and more.
Turn them on
- The app does not ask on the first start. From the second start the home screen shows Get notifications on this phone. Press Turn on.
- The phone shows its own permission box. Allow it.
- Not now waits 14 days before the app offers again.
- If you refused, the app says notifications are switched off in the phone settings. Open settings and allow them for the app.
"This version of the app cannot get notifications" means you have an old build. Update the app.
The notification list
Open More > Notifications. Every notice is kept here, also after you change phones. A parent with more than one child sees the child's name on each ("About Asha"). Press Mark all as read.
Choose what you get
Open Notification choices.
- Categories: attendance, fees, notices, results, hostel, staff alerts, other.
- Safety alerts are locked on, for example "collected by someone not on the pass" and urgent staff alerts.
- A daily digest at a time you choose, instead of many small ones.
- Quiet hours. The institution's quiet hours (by default 9 pm to 7 am), your own, or none. Held messages wait until morning. Safety alerts ignore quiet hours.
Why you may not get one
- Notifications are off in the phone settings, or the app is old.
- The category is off for you.
- It is quiet hours.
- Your institution's delivery order may put the phone app after another channel. See Delivery order, fallback, replies and cost.
- The server has not switched push notifications on yet. SunRuby does that for your server after the phone app version that can receive them is out.
- You signed in on another phone. The newest phone you sign in on receives them. A phone is removed when you sign out.
