Ask for or approve a correction of your punches

See your own punches, ask for a correction when a day is wrong, and (for the head) approve or reject corrections.

Staff · How to · Last checked 2026-10-19

See your attendance

  1. Open My space > My attendance (in the phone app: More > My attendance).
  2. The page shows the month, newest day first. Tiles show Working days, Present, Half days, Absent, Not confirmed, Paid leave, Late marks and Loss of pay days.
  3. Each day shows in and out times and a note, such as "Late by 12 min", "One punch only" or "No punch".

A day with no punch is Not confirmed. It is not Absent, and pay is not cut for it.

Ask for a correction

You can ask within the allowed window (30 days by default) and only while the month is not locked.

  1. On the day press Ask for a correction.
  2. Choose what happened, for example "The device did not record me". Choose the status to mark (such as Present) and the in and out times.
  3. Write a reason. A very short reason is refused.
  4. Press Send. The day shows "Correction: Waiting for a decision". You can press Withdraw until it is decided.

You cannot ask twice for the same day while one is waiting.

Decide corrections (principal or approver)

  1. Open Staff > Attendance corrections. The Waiting tab shows each request with the day as it was, what is asked and the reason.
  2. Press Approve, or Reject with remarks. Rejecting needs a reason.
  3. The Decided tab keeps the history with your name.

After approval the day reads Present with the note "Corrected on request". The institution policy may need a different person to approve than the one who asked.

Change a day yourself (the head)

The head can change a day from the monthly summary. See Staff month-end for payroll: work out and lock. The old and new values are kept.

Common questions

The Ask for a correction button is missing.

The month is locked for payroll, the day is outside the window, or a request is already waiting.

Do I need this for leave?

No. Use leave for planned absence. See Approve or apply for leave.

Using SunRuby already? Press the ? button at the top of any screen for the guide to that screen.
