The Ask button shows only when all of these are true. Check them in this order.
1. The server offers the assistant
On some servers the assistant is not available. Ask SunRuby support if none of the steps below help.
2. The organisation owner switched it on
The owner opens Organisation > AI assistant, reads the notice, ticks the box and presses Accept and switch on. If the notice was updated, the owner must accept the new version again.
3. The institution has the feature
Open Organisation > Institutions, open the institution's profile and check that the feature AI assistant (called "assistant") is on. It is off by default.
4. You gave your consent
Each person agrees for themselves. Open My privacy and agree to the AI features. Without it the panel asks you to give consent first.
5. Your role may ask
Your role needs the permission to ask (assistant.assistant:ask). Teachers, principals and office roles can have it. The security guard and the mess manager do not. Ask who manages roles.
6. A limit is reached
If you asked too many questions today, or the month's budget is used up, the assistant says so. The owner sees usage under Organisation > AI usage and cost.
Common questions
The assistant only drafts, it does not answer questions.
The owner chose the Basic level. A data question needs the Standard level, set under Organisation > AI assistant.
Does the assistant show me more than I can see?
No. It uses your own permissions. A class teacher cannot ask about another class.
